INTERNSHIPS
Tata Power Limited
I am currently doing an internship with Tata Power Limited, the largest power generation company in India, working on two Descriptive Analysis projects. The first being, the impact of weather on power generation through solar panels, and the other on understanding consumption patterns of Households using Smart Meter data. For the first part, I was introduced to the AI concept of “Reward is enough”, based on the idea that merely defining the ‘reward’ or the larger objective is enough to optimize behaviours. For the second part I am learning concepts like Fourier transform, linear programming, LSTM, recurrent neural networks, etc., to help differentiate the data sent out by various appliances.
Theory of Constraints
I am assisting Dr Ajai Kapoor in formulating exercises for his book on “Theory of Constraints”. My first step was to understand the TOC concept through the books – “The Goal” and “It’s not Luck” – by Eli Goldratt. I followed up by writing a book report on both. I also understood the concept of “Thinking Processes” and its application. The books set in a business environment, introduce concepts (tackling bottlenecks, conflict resolution, what to change, what to change to and how to cause the change) applicable in any life situation. The seemingly difficult problems reveal common sense solutions using the logical “Thinking processes” concept.Link:- TOC Book Report
Tata Trusts
Stubble burning in northern India has long been a major cause of air pollution, with the efforts to eradicate it being unsuccessful. As an intern with Tata Trusts, I am evaluating possible solutions by considering economic constraints, addressing the role of various stakeholders, and making recommendations for collective action.
RESEARCH
Physics Research Paper
Mentor: Dr. Luca Santarelli, PhD University College London
I completed a research paper through the Lumiere research scholar program on Application of squeezed light to reduce the noise floor associated with photoconductive photodiodes in laser- interferometric gravitational wave detectors. The project enlightened me about quantum- mechanical contraptions and the vast scope they possess in transcending human experimentation abilities.

Mathematics IB Extended Essay
I did my Extended Essay in my favourite subject – Mathematics, where I modelled epidemic spread using the discrete-time Markov chain model. This topic is especially important as we are currently going through an epidemic. My research allowed me to apply random walks to truly understand the spread of the virus.
LEADERSHIP
Participating in MUN, I became an active cosmopolitan, aware of the world’s many socio-economic and geopolitical issues. I learnt how to think critically, engineering solutions to challenge the status quo. I have also been awarded the “Outstanding Delegate” award and “Best Delegate” award.
2020
- Participated as delegate in Cathedral MUN in the Disarmament and International Security Committee. Won the “Outstanding Delegate” Award
- During the Lockdown in 2020 I organised an Online MUN Conference: Concordia MUN. It was a success with participation of 40 delegates. I Chaired the Security Council Committee
- Participated as delegate in the Dhirubhai Ambani International Model UN in the Security Council. Received a verbal mention for the contributions at the conclusion of the conference
2019
- Participated as delegate in Spring MUN 2019 in the Historical Security Council. Was selected for night crisis and awarded the “Best Delegate” award in the council
- Participated as delegate in Cathedral MUN in the Disarmament and International Security Committee
- Participated as delegate in Dhirubhai Ambani International Model UN in the Security Council. Hosted an Italian Delegate
2018
- Participated as delegate in Spring MUN in the Commission on the status of Women
- Participated as delegate in DAIMUN in the Disarmament and International Security Committee.
- Participated as delegate in Cathedral MUN in the Historic Security Council
- Represented the school in The Hague International Model United Nations, Singapore as a member of the General Assembly 4 representing Mongolia. The resolution that I was working for was passed with a good majority
Debate

Delegate in Round Square – Host for 2 delegates from British School (New Delhi) 2019
COMMUNITY ENGAGEMENT
I have been involved in various projects directly related to improving the lives and livelihood of people.
Water Conservation
A Water Aid report in 2016 ranked India among the worst countries in the world for the number
of people without safe water. An estimated 76 million people in India have no access to a safe
water supply, and the situation is only getting more serious. When families do not have a safe
and reliable water source, preferably direct to their home, then it is often women and children
that are responsible for collecting water. School attendance in India decreases when children
are required to spend hours collecting water.
The apathy in the village required an integrated approach where all the issues needed to be seen in conjunction. This led to the emergence of an integrated model of development where
the focus was on health, education, livelihoods, governance and clean technology.
I am working with Diganta Swaraj Foundation in study of Solar based Water Irrigation project, its Impact Analysis and giving recommendations for improvement while replicating it in more villages.
Samvedna
In the beginning of the pandemic, I worked with 9 of my classmates on Project Samvedna. We designed and launched a crowd-funding campaign to raise funds for supplying PPE kits, hospital beds, and vitamin supplements, creating employment opportunities and ensuring care packages for the needy. The project involved understanding the needs of people affected by covid, collaborating with classmates and leveraging the NGO’s experience to provide covid support.Link:- Fund Raiser Video
IB Community Action Service Projects
NGO Muktangan
The project involves participating in planning of teaching sessions, creating multi-subject worksheets for sixth grade Muktangan students, suggesting modifications to the Muktangan website, improving its social media presence and assisting in the donation drive at the Tata Mumbai Marathon.
EcoSpeak
Working with a magazine on Environmental Issues (EcoSpeak). The project involves collecting, writing, editing and publishing articles on environmental and social issues and distribution of the magazine to government schools and others.
